Trends in "Sable de Camargue" PGI wines [CP]
The INAO National Committee responsible for viticultural PGIs, which met on Thursday April 1, gave a favorable opinion to the opening of a national opposition period (PNO) for the repeal of the "Sable de Camargue" PGI without giving the green light to the transmission of the PGI repeal application file to the European Commission services.
The INAO National Committee responsible for viticultural PGIs, which met on Thursday April 1, gave a favorable opinion to the opening of a national opposition period (PNO) for the repeal of the "Sable de Camargue" PGI without giving the green light to the transmission of the PGI repeal application file to the European Commission services.
.

This two-month PNO will therefore soon be opened, at the same time as the one decided by the National Committee competent for wine PDOs following its favorable opinion on the request to upgrade the "Sable de Camargue" PGI to a PDO.
This period will allow the project's bearers to dialogue with producers of the "Terre de Camargue" complementary geographical denomination (CGD) of the "Pays des Bouches du Rhône" PGI.
.
"I hope that this period of exchange will enable a solution to be found that is shared by all parties to the dossier, one that will allay concerns, particularly over the issues raised today by the sharing of the name "Camargue" with the prospect of this change to PDO status for the PGI "Sable de Camargue"
