Jean-Claude Pellegrin led an extremely rich career in the service of the winegrowing collective of his native Bouches-du-Rhône, the vineyards of the South-East and the great family of protected geographical indications. A winegrower in Lambesc, he managed a 60-hectare estate of vines, claimed as IGP "Méditerranée", IGP "Bouches-du-Rhône" and also AOP "Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence". His commitment to these sectors has led him to take on a variety of responsibilities: director of the Roy René cooperative winery, president of the Fédération des Caves Coopératives des Bouches-du-Rhône from 1995 to 2003, treasurer of the Confédération française des vins IGP, president of the wine commission of the Bouches-du-Rhône Chamber of Agriculture, president of the Interprofession des Vins du Sud-Est (InterVins Sud-Est)... Since 2012, Jean-Claude Pellegrin has been a director and vice-president of the Comité National des Interprofessions des Vins à appellation d'origine et à indication géographique (CNIV). He was also President of the ODG des vins à Indication Géographique Protégée des Bouches-du-Rhône. He also chaired the Interprofession des Vins du Sud-Est (InterVins Sud-Est), of which he was an instigator.
The INAO's governing bodies benefited from his remarkable energy, as he was also a member of the Comité national des Indications géographiques protégées relatives aux vins et aux cidres.
