INAO pays tribute to Jean Laurens, former INAO vice-president

Jean Laurens passed away on May 25, 2024 at the age of 80. INAO pays tribute to this figure of Aveyron agriculture, who chaired the national committee for Protected Geographical Indications, Red Labels and Traditional Specialities Guaranteed from 2007 to 2012.

Born in Rodez in 1944, this dairy farmer from Lacroix-Barrez was deeply involved in the development of local and national agriculture. He was president of the FDSEA and then of the Aveyron Chamber of Agriculture for 16 years. President of the Comité National des Indications Géographiques Protégées, Labels Rouges et Spécialités Traditionnelles Garanties from 2007 to 2012, he was an advocate of regional and quality agriculture, with a number of topical positions.
