The Permanent Council of the INAO has decided to evolve the transversal "SIQO Protection" Commission in order to open it up to a wider audience and enable broader exchanges on current events and issues surrounding protection. In addition to the administrations, federations and experts initially present, the Commission is now an annual conference to which all members of national committees and interested defense and management organizations are invited.

INAO is the guarantor of French geographical indications, as well as foreign geographical indications on national territory.
