A webinar to understand the new Regulation (EU) No 2024/1143 on geographical indications for wine, spirit drinks and agricultural products and traditional specialities guaranteed [ODG].
Published on April 23, 2024 after several years of work, the new regulation (EU) n°2024/1143 modifies the European legal framework for geographical indications (PDO, PGI) for alcoholic beverages and agricultural products, as well as traditional specialties guaranteed (TSG). To help defense and management organizations better understand these new regulations, INAO is organizing two introductory webinars, on Friday May 24 from 10am to 12pm, and on Friday June 14 from 10am to 12pm.

In addition to an explanatory presentation of the new features and changes introduced in the new regulation, these webinars will include Q&A time with INAO professionals.
Supporting the policy of official signs identifying quality and origin.
This new regulation is part of the implementation of the European Commission's Sharp and Efficient Regulation program ("REFIT"), aimed at making European Union legislation simpler, less costly and future-proof. The regulation is intended to meet two general objectives:
- Effective protection of intellectual property rights in the Union, including efficient registration processes, to reward producers fairly for the efforts they make,
- Increase the use of GIs throughout the Union to the benefit of the rural economy.
